comments section?

So I keep getting these little comments that have links attached to them from people I don't know. Does anyone know what that is about? It is like I am being attacked with spam on my blog. Has that happened to anyone else? I did click on one of the links, I know not smart, and it started running a scan for viruses on my computer. I was able to cancel it before anything happened, but how do you stop these guys from posting. Is that where that word recognition thing comes in handy?
Any advice?

Dreams

As some of you know dreams during pregnancy are always a fun treat. In this mood I write the following post. I have never really had a huge body image complex. I have never not liked my body. Sure, as every woman I have my days or weeks where I would love to change something. For the most part I have a very healthy mind set. For some reason this has been thrown out the window completely this pregnancy. Of all the times to develop a body image complex, pregnancy is not it. I mentioned to Mike that I have been feeling like a beached whale at many points during my day and don't understand why. I haven't gained alot of weight, average for most I would say. For the last 3 nights sense I mentioned this problem to Mike I have been having dreams about beached whales, whale hunting, being chased by whales, etc. Although quite amusing I have had enough. I am hoping that by getting this out there that these dreams will go away! Maybe it will just make it worse, but hopefully my mind will get over this image problem soon and move on to more important issues. Like, I don't know, having a baby! :)

Ice Skating??

This first picture really says it all....

One toddler, a 4 year old, and a child who isn't that stable with shoes on going skating all at once. One parent who doesn't have skates on and another who thought, "sure I will remember how to do this." Let me tell you I was the parent that didn't use her brain. Ice skating is not like riding a bike...you will forget the groove that it takes! So although we weren't out there long, the point is we tried. No one broke anything and Carter still wants to go back. All in all I call it a sucessful day. Carter did a face plant into the ice and didn't want to continue after that, but he proudly exclaimed, "tomorrow when I come I will be better than today!" What a fabulous attitude he had. Mason just thought we were insane for even attempting to put some skates on his feet. Taylor did try, bless her little heart, she kept on getting up time and time again!

Best of all it was a blistering 15 degrees above!!! That is some really nice weather baby!!! Could our big melt down be just around the corner?

Snow cave in the works.

Well, something has been done to the big pile of snow...a big snow cave. It is still not complete and the planned sleepover had to be postponed. Daddy and Carter were going to sleep in it tonight, but all the work wasn't complete in time.
Carter and Taylor both thought it was great to watch daddy hard at work!

It was a couple degrees above zero. This basically means that they stayed outside for over an hour without complaining about it being cold! YIPPEEE!!!

School Project

This is just one of Mason's projects from school. He thought it was really funny when Carter and Taylor were using them, but really is just laughing because he is trying to get away from this picture. He isn't really happy about having to stand there with something on his head.

Why is our's always the biggest?

This is our snow pile in the front yard. I tried to include in the shot our neighbors yards. Their nice little piles to the side of their driveways. We for some reason have been given the pleasure of living in the corner unit. This means that not only to I or Mike have to shovel our snow, but we also get the privilege of shoveling everyone elses snow that has blown and drifted to our driveway. Today I need to get back out there and knock this sucker down. Hopefully by doing so the snow will keep on going and not stop here!!

Although I was taught while shoveling that I really covet other peoples things. There is a man a few houses down that had some fabulous snow removal toys out and working. My shovel and I were doing some great work, but nothing beats him coming over and doing the bottom of the driveway and finishing off the little I had left. Living in ND has been the only time I have ever said to myself..."why don't we have a snow blower!!??"

Anyway, when all was said and done I got help from super snow removal man. I also got a great work out.

P.S. we might want to keep the fact that I shoveled most the driveway to ourselves, Mike won't be too happy--over protective hubby of mine! :)-

Oatmeal...a great sensory toy...

At least it use to be. Mason use to play in containers of oatmeal for a sensory therapy. Now he just dumps it for fun. He decided putting it on his head would be a great additive to the clean up process. Taylor caught onto that really quick, "What? Mason isn't getting into trouble. I should join!"

Dishes getting done

Mommy is usually the last one ready on Saturday mornings. Last week was no different, but I did get some help with dishes that week. I just forgot about these pictures and wanted to post them now.

Great things about North Dakota Winter

1. Your garbage can doesn't smell--you know that lovely dirty diaper smell. Everything here freezes so fast it doesn't have a chance to get that wonderful aroma!
2. You have an extended fridge in your garage and a deep freeze in your back yard!!
3. Need to cool down something fast, the outside will do that in about 2 mins!
4. Did you forget that sippy cup in your car? You know the one that rolled under the seat and you found it about a week later. That is never fun to clean..in fact sometimes you dont' dare open it--not here, it is frozen solid! Ready to be cleaned and used again promptly.
5. You get to 'brag' about the freezing cold weather that few people can relate too.
6. You know your daughter was born in ND when she runs outside barefoot when it is 10 degrees outside. You are getting someone off the bus and turn around..there she is. Smiling with feet covered in snow and doesn't flinch--even walks back to the house! Don't worry that one didn't happen but one time.

Mason

So I just got Mason off the bus from school for the day and found a pleasant note in his folder. It said that one of his friends at school asked for his phone number. I guess this young guy is a year older than the rest of the students. He sits with Mason everyday at lunch. As Mason's para put it, "he is mature enough to handle Mason's ups and downs." Patience is a virtue that anyone would learn with Mason--trust us on that one!! We see friends on occasion at birthday parties and things out of school. Never really any play dates. I dont' feel comfortable sending Mason to someone elses house alone and nothing as worked out for people to come here. There are many issues with sending a special needs child somewhere else. Most of all he is non-verbal, if something were to happen he could not tell me. I am hoping that this friend of his will be able to come over and play. It is so fun to see children accept and love Mason. Someone may think that is an easy task, but for a child there is much to put up with to be friends with Mason. As a parent of a special needs child your main concern is true inclusion. Young children can be very rude--we have seen that already in our years. You also have the children that stand out as wonderful examples of love towards anyone!
I was just pleased with Mason's notebook comments today and hope this is a start to some great relationships that we can build in the future.

Cake Classes

So I thought I should show off a little of my latest work. I have been taking some cake decorating classes. I just completed the third course. This was the final product and it turned out much better than I thought it would. I have always enjoyed cake decorating, but wanted to take some classes to see if I could just learn the tricks of the trade. It has been really fun getting out and doing this.

BABY!!!!! Come on people we told you we wouldn't find out what it was. These are just a few pictures that we got. The baby was VERY active. It was awesome to see this little person and know that everything was just dandy!!! We could even count the little toes on the feet! It was very awesome. Carter decided it is a boy. He said that the baby had short hair--so it must be a boy!! :) June 25th is still the due date.
