While everyone else is having fun....
Poor Mason. While everyone else has something fun and exciting going on poor guy was dealing with seizures and being sick. The seizures have stopped since the big one that landed us in the hospital, but the sick we are waiting to go away. He might have strep and we are just waiting on the culture to come back. Poor Mighty Mouse can't catch a break. He was able to go on his Field Trip with his class before this all happened so that is good. His teacher came up to me after as I was picking him up and said, "We have one problem with Mason, all the girls love him and won't leave him alone." If that is the only problem of the year, I can deal with that. :)
You know Mason is sick when he is actually falling asleep during the day without his meds. :(

Bear Love
This is Brennan's 'cheese'. We don't tell him cheese, he just smiles at the camera every time he sees it out.
I think some of you that know us thought this was a post about the Chicago Bears, but it is not. This Bear was the bear given to Brennan from Gma Mason when she was here last year. Every night this Bear's button is pushed when he goes to sleep because he(Brennan) will cry for awhile if it doesn't talk to him. Today Brennan actually got upset that Taylor had his bear. She steals it quite a bit because of the silky blanket attached to it.
He then was giving it hugs and kisses and was so cute with his little friend. We are always telling Taylor it is Brennan's bear and hopefully one day she will comply and understand that not everything is hers. :)

Brennan loves to dance! He twists his wrists just so and wiggles his little body. I am really enjoying his personality because he has so much of it!! We were watching a movie and every time some music came on he started to shake his groove thing!

First Wobbly Tooth
Carter has been so excited about his first wobbly tooth. He has been diligent at playing with it to make it more and more wobbly. We told him today that it was probably ready to come out and he was not going to let us pull it. So we told him we would wrap a string around it, if it came out with the string that he pulled it was ready. If it wasn't ready then the string would just slip off.
"Okay," he says with reluctance to believe us. Then he was in tears because he didn't want it to come out. So we told him just to take the string off. It had started to bleed a tiny bit and Mike made the mistake of letting Carter know this....so he was even more distressed.

He was cheering and very pleased with himself.

There was a rush to get that tooth under his pillow. :) It doesn't really look like he lost a tooth because his two permanent teeth have already come through. The Dentist is going to have the privilege of pulling the other as it is not even close to coming out.
I do have to mention that this is what Carter changed into after church. He wanted to get out of his church clothes and came in with this on. He LOVES wearing shirts, ties, and vests. He gets into them all the time and wants to wear them. I think it is so funny and I am very cuirous as to what this little man is going to grow up to become.
He pulled the string off and then I announced that the tooth was gone when he handed me the string. It was instant smiles with those beautiful tears. :)

Lesson Learned
Carter is such a fabulous worker. Infact he is very independent, great at doing chores, wants to do everything himself. Well, Saturday he learned what will happen when 220v shoot through something that only calls for 110v. It will fry the motor and break the machine. The fabulous boy had cleaned his room and called Dad for the vaccum. He told Mike he had it under control and proceeded to plug it in to an adaptor instead of a transformer. If you don't know the difference, sorry I'm not taking the time to explain. Google it. :) Let's just say a Dyson will not take more than 110v. Mike took it apart today to see if there was any hope for repair. Well, after Carter running it for 5 minutes and then "smelling something funny," Daddy running it AGAIN because he thought it was a belt. THEN realizing what was really taking place..oops. The motor was spitting out flames today and we had to say goodbye to our lovely vaccum that I loved dearly.
Shrink a Dinks
Have you ever used these things? I have had my first experience and it was so fun and amazing. I was making a few things for some I Spy Bags for the Relief Society Super Saturday that I was in charge of and I could have done this all day. So fun! My house should have been cleaned and it wasn't, should have made a proper dinner and I didn't. :) This was much more appealing. Color(which I just corrected because I did type colour :)) them, cute them out, bake them, so easy, so fun!
Missionaries..again :)
Taylor has her first official crush in life. Good heavens, this girl can not get enough of Elder K. She would not stop squeezing his arm during dinner and it just got worse as the night went on. One day she is most likely going to be embarassed about this, but for now it is the cutest thing ever! :)

Ca Ca is Gone
It was a sad day on Sunday in this family. Ca Ca is no more. :( That has always been how Taylor said Carter. It was Ca Ca this and Ca Ca that. She came home from church on Sunday and it was gone. It is now a proper Carter and it is kind of sad. We had this with Carter saying Me-Mase with Mason. That was just as sad. We have even tried to get her to say it and she argues with us about it. Carter told her that he liked that she had her own name for him and that didn't change it either. Good Bye Ca Ca, it was great while it lasted.

Tying Shoes
I love these pictures of Carter because they really show our Carter and who he is. Aunt Kellie sent shoes and he wasn't very excited because we forgot to tell Kellie that he couldn't tie shoes yet. We decided that it was high time to get this process going. He started and was excited to learn but easily got frustrated that he couldn't do it to perfection the first time. Something we struggle with with Carter.
Tears began and he wanted to give up. We talked about persevering and keeping to it. He kept going through the tears.

It is funny when he is amazed that he actually did something. We keep saying, "You can do it!" However, most the time he doesn't believe us.

First Day of School
Our little Taylor started her first day of school. Doesn't she just look so cute!? I know it, you don't have to tell me. She was really excited yesterday when we went to meet her Key Person and play at the school for a bit. I think it turned official with the uniform and she realized that she would be left by mom. She cried for my benefit only of course. I called when I got home and they said she was prefectly fine and enjoying her friends. Taylor did come home and told me she smacked a kid. :( Now we know she felt comfortable enough to be herself.
She felt very special with her packed lunch and bag of extra clothes to take with her. She was also excited about her new haircut. She is so big and we are excited for her to be doing something for her.

First Day of School
Carter had his first day of Year 2 a.k.a Yellow Class. He was so excited and couldn't stop jumping up and down last night and took forever to finally fall asleep. He has grown so much in the last year it is scary to think of all that he will learn this year. He thinks he is pretty grown up being in Yellow Class now. This apparently means he has a whole new set of responsiblity. :) He was excited to tell his class about the Wallace Monument, The Cross of St. Andrew, and his new wobbly tooth. :) He is thrilled that in about a week or two the Tooth Fairy will be coming to his home!!!

Silly Traditions
We had another missionary leave and had a request to use our house for his firing traditions. Mike did this on his mission and so he was happy to help out. Burning of a suit in farewell. The kids thought it was pretty cool that Elder Sorenson was going home to Utah. They were all amazed because they know exactly where that is. :)
Brennan Guy
First Day of School!!
First day of 3rd grade! I have a 3rd grader people, that is crazy!!! Mason was super excited about going to school and has been doing great so far. He has the same aide, same Taxi driver etc..so that is fabulous. His teacher seems like she is really eager to have him. I am meeting her officially on Friday and am looking forward to that. I hope this year goes a lot better than last year did. Yippee to school starting!!
