Olympic Athlete Sighting

At Heathrow Airport when we were getting our bags Carter looked over and noticed some Paralympic Athletes. He was so excited and went and asked them if they were here for the Olympics. Then he chatted with them about their sport, which was table tennis. He had little happy tears and was on such a high. We told him to go and ask if he could take a picture with them--they probably didn't realize the joy they gave our little man--thanks TEAM USA!!!

 This is our brother, Kirk. He is an honorary member of our family. We were so grateful he came out to spend our last night with us. We are also glad he is trying to leave his mark on his Christiansen nephew. Thanks Uncle Kirk. :) Even if we made you quilt.

 No, it was not Mason's birthday. However Gma and Gpa were running an experiment and this was the first chance they got to give Mason his birthday gift while we were there--yes we were that busy. They got Mason some new school clothes and they also knew that Mason would open a tiny bit of the paper and then give it away. This time they got tricky and wrapped the shirt around some sweets--Mason somehow knew sugar was there and he unwrapped everything!

 He might have been a little excited--just saying.

Last few moments...

 A good last play at the park with some cousins before getting some pictures done with Papa and Nana--hopefully someone sends those to us soon. :)

 For our last little fun we went to some music fountains in Farmington--it was really neat.

 Tried to get some real life shots of all the people checking out the fountains, but people kept moving!

 Cameron loved the fountains--he was mesmerized.

 We said our good-byes and then as we were headed to the car there was one last show for the night--so we enjoyed it one last time before going.

 We stopped at Matt and Jeni's for a couple things the next day and the kids were hunting snakes. Carter was pretty sad to leave and wanted to see the snake one more time. Grateful that Landon found it later and sent a picture!

Brigham City Temple Open House

I am waiting for a couple more pictures to add to this one, but for now I will write about the opportunity we had to go and view the Brigham City Temple. We were quite lucky that Aunt Chelsi had a friend with 20 tickets she wasn't using, and we wanted them! What a fab day to go and walk through the temple before it will be dedicated and show your children what it is all about. The prospect of eternity and letting them see for  themselves how peaceful and majestic the temple is.

rollin and rollin--it was easier to ride and go with the hill then trying to steer it down the hill I guess--no worries there were no children in the stroller at the time! 

The weekend of activities was not over and we still had plans for the Sunday after church. We all met up at Mueller Park and had roast beast sandwiches, played together, and just had a good chat. We were lucky that Great Grandpa Galloway could join us at the park that afternoon as well. Grandpa Mason took the camera at one point, Taylor had the camera at another and over all I think we just ended up with tons of shots from the day that it was a picture overload when I went to download. So hopefully you enjoy this day through the pictures. :)

I love that both grandpa's are trying to help Mason out with something to eat and I don't think even Mason knew what he wanted. Mike was busy making a reed whistle thing. If you get Mike started on a project there is nothing else in the world that can deter him from finishing the project.

Mason was laying on the hugs and affection big time that day and was even trying to be a little gentle with it I think.

After Mueller Park we headed down to Great Grandma&Grandpa Mason's house. It was Great Grandpa's 91st birthday and we were so excited we could help him celebrate. The boys were playing a game passing the footballs through the hoop in the air. I'm pretty impressed with this shot!

The zipline was also brought out and everyone wanted a go on that! Aunt Heather was helping Mason out and he couldn't do it quite like the rest of us, not for the lack of trying and skill, but he couldn't stop laughing!!

The cake must have been good--plate lickin good!

Kevin vs. Mindy---and Uncle Andy was trying to give Mindy the edge to beat out Kevin, but it didn't really help.

Taylor was also trying to get some help, and if her arms would have been just a little bit longer she would have been fantastic at it!

Mike vs. Hollie--I look very competitive in the first picture and then I love how much I look like I'm struggling while Mike is not even breaking a sweat--well I lost. :(
